Welcome

My name is Uschi Braun and I was born and grew up in Germany.

I lived in New Zealand for 21 years moving to the UK in March 2018.  I have 'come full circle' and my partner and I feel very settled in Petersfield.

I'm a qualified and experienced therapist for Massage, Reflexology and Manual Lymphatic Drainage. As a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) in the UK, I am fully qualified and insured.

Covid-19

I'm taking all the necessary precautions and I'm fully vaccinated (incl. boosters) for Covid-19

My Qualifications in Massage, Reflexology and Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

I love massaging and have been massaging friends and family since 1979 (when I was 18), and have been a qualified massage therapist since 2005.

In 2005 I obtained the National Certificate in Massage (using Aromatherapy) from the New Zealand College of Massage in Auckland in New Zealand.

In 2006 I obtained the Certificate in Allied Therapies (including Reflexology, Chair Massage, Mawssage & Pregnancy, etc) from the New Zealand College of Massage.

In 2008 I completed a 3-day Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) course in Tauranga, New Zealand, held by Jill Griffiths, who runs the well known Weller Institute in Melbourne, Australia.

In October 2018 I obtained the Certificate in Hot Stone Massage from the Brighton School of Massage.

In January 2019 I completed the Diploma in Indian Head Massage from the Brighton School of Massage.

And in October and November 2021 I attended the Diploma in Sports Massage with the Brighton School of Massage.

I have also read a bit about homoepathy etc.

I offer Treatments for Women

  • Massage Therapy (Sports, Deep Tissue, Remedial, Relaxation)
  • Reflexology (feet and / or hands)
  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage (lymphatic drainage is a treatment by itself and also often a “side effect” of a Massage or Reflexology treatment)
  • a mix of Massage and / or Reflexology and / or Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Please see the respective website pages (= "tabs”) for more information on Massage Therapy, Reflexology and (Manual) Lymphatic Drainage (MLD).

Benefits of regular Treatments

  • Helps break the chronic pain spasm cycle while reducing associated muscle tightness
  • Stimulates / increases circulation of blood and lymph
  • Releases endorphins (= body’s natural painkillers) that uplift and help to feel good / better
  • Helps to eliminate wastes from body
    • thus drink a glass of water AFTER a massage etc treatment, and a lot of water during the day
    • drinking a lot of water can also help to prevent e.g. bladder and kidney infections, and dementia (which can also caused by dehydration of brain)
  • Assists with absorption of nutrients into body
  • Helps with prevention of soft tissue injury and rehabilitation of injured soft tissue (e.g. OOS [= Occupational Overuse Syndrome] or RSI [= Repeated Strain Injury])
  • Helps to reduce post-operative recovery period and speeds up elimination of anaesthetics

BEFORE receiving a massage / reflexology / lymphatic drainage you have to inform massage therapists etc about

  • Your general health
  • Current conditions (e.g. hepatitis, blood pressure problems etc)
  • Current medical treatment / medication (including homoeopathy)
  • Past injuries / operations / conditions

I am looking forward to seeing you.
